CS-TRADEUP Platform Overview
What is the CS-TRADEUP platform?
CS-TRADEUP is a professional platform for analyzing CS2 trade-up contracts, discovering profitable scenarios, and evaluating outcomes based on market prices, float values, and outcome probabilities. The platform helps you not only calculate individual contracts, but also compare options, analyze profitability, and discover viable trade-up opportunities faster.
What price sources does CS-TRADEUP use?
CS-TRADEUP currently uses Steam market data for calculations. The price of each skin is based on the median sale price over the last 7 days for the specific wear condition (Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, etc.).
Who is CS-TRADEUP designed for?
CS-TRADEUP is built for users who regularly work with CS2 trade-up contracts, analyze skin profitability, or use market inefficiencies as part of their trading strategy. The platform is suitable both for quick analysis of individual contracts and systematic discovery of profitable trade-up opportunities.
Trade-Up Calculator
What does the Trade-Up Calculator do?
The Trade-Up Calculator allows you to perform a detailed analysis of a specific CS2 trade-up contract before purchasing skins or executing the contract. After adding your input skins, you’ll see all possible outcomes, the probability of each result, final float values, Expected Value (EV), potential profit, and other key metrics. This is the primary mode for precise trade-up contract analysis in CS2.
Can I analyze contracts found in other platform modes?
Yes. If you discover an interesting trade-up scenario in another platform mode, you can instantly open it in the Trade-Up Calculator for a full breakdown. The calculator will automatically load the input skins and show the complete analysis: possible outcomes, drop probabilities, EV, expected profit, and overall contract metrics. This makes it easy to move from opportunity discovery to detailed verification.
How is EV calculated in a trade-up contract?
EV (Expected Value) represents the average expected value of a trade-up contract based on all possible outcomes and their respective probabilities. For example, if a contract can produce multiple different skins with different drop chances, the system calculates the mathematical expectation across all possible outcomes.
Why can EV be positive while profit is negative?
EV reflects the expected value of possible outcomes, but actual profitability depends on the cost of your input skins. If entering the contract is too expensive, even a strong EV may still result in a loss. Marketplace selling fees can also affect the final result if commission is included in your calculations. That’s why it’s important to evaluate not only EV, but also profitability metrics and profit chance.
What does Profit Chance mean?
Profit Chance shows the probability that a specific trade-up contract execution will result in a positive financial outcome. For example, if the profit chance is 30%, only some of the possible outcomes would be profitable, while the rest would result in a loss. This metric helps you quickly assess the risk level of a trade-up contract.
How does marketplace commission work?
The commission field allows you to account for marketplace selling fees when calculating profitability. For example, if you set a 10% commission, the system assumes you will receive 90% of the skin’s market value after selling. This affects your final profit calculation and helps model more realistic trade-up scenarios.
Can I set a custom price for an input skin?
Yes. You can manually enter your own price for each input skin. This is useful if you purchased an item below market price, obtained a better deal through trading, or want to simulate a specific trade-up scenario. Manual pricing allows for more accurate profitability analysis based on your actual situation.
Trade-Up Explorer
What does Trade-Up Explorer do?
Trade-Up Explorer helps you discover profitable CS2 trade-up scenarios without manually testing contracts one by one. You can use it both to complete an existing trade-up contract and to search for entirely new trade-up opportunities from scratch. Discovered scenarios can be instantly opened in the Trade-Up Calculator for deeper analysis, including EV, profitability, outcome probabilities, and real-world price adjustments if needed.
Do I need to add my own skins?
No. If you already have some input skins, Trade-Up Explorer can help you find the most profitable ways to complete the contract. If you don’t add any input skins at all, the system will search for profitable trade-up scenarios based on your selected parameters. This makes Trade-Up Explorer useful both for completing existing setups and discovering new opportunities.
How does the Target Outcome block work?
The Target Outcome block allows you to guide Trade-Up Explorer toward a specific goal. You can leave all fields empty for open-ended trade-up discovery, or apply filters for more targeted searches. For example, you can select a specific target skin, limit the search to a certain collection, define a maximum float for the target skin, choose the desired wear condition, set a maximum completion budget, or specify how many results to return. The more filters you apply, the narrower and more focused the search becomes.
Do I have to define a Target Outcome?
No. Trade-Up Explorer supports both guided and open-ended discovery modes. If you leave the target outcome empty, the system will search for profitable trade-up opportunities based on your selected parameters. If you define a specific target, the search becomes more focused.
What do the search modes mean?
Trade-Up Explorer supports multiple search modes that determine how broadly the system explores possible trade-up scenarios. Depending on the selected mode, the search may be limited to a specific collection, focused around the target collection, or expanded to broader cross-collection opportunities. This allows you to switch between highly targeted and wider discovery strategies depending on your goals.
How is Trade-Up Explorer different from the Trade-Up Calculator?
Trade-Up Explorer helps you discover trade-up opportunities. Trade-Up Calculator helps you analyze a specific contract in detail. In simple terms: Explorer helps you find the idea, while Calculator helps you validate it before execution.
Saved Templates
What are Saved Templates?
Saved Templates allow you to save trade-up contracts for quick future access. This is useful if you regularly analyze the same scenarios, test multiple entry variations, or want to quickly return to previously discovered contracts.
Can I open a saved template in the Trade-Up Calculator?
Yes. Any saved template can be opened directly in the Trade-Up Calculator for continued analysis. Once opened, you can refresh prices, adjust input parameters, and re-evaluate the contract’s current profitability.
